Horstman was the first first and so far only T-Bar I’ve ever used.

The glacier has been receding for years that it got too steep to safely operate. They’d spend half the season flattening it with cats, so it doesn’t make much sense from a financial standpoint to keep.

Is there any site comparable to onthesnow that combines information about ski resorts with up to date conditions?

I use snow-forecast.com for conditions, especially when I go outside of the country. I have found their snow and weather forecasts to be better than onthesnow, although they lack information about ski resorts. skiresort.info has pretty good information about resorts. Regardless, onthesnow will definitely be missed.

Opensnow.com is beginning to add these features in. As well as Zrankings.com is a good option for information.

looking at the video (great find, by the way), I noticed that terminal cover, it looks like a Uni-GS, I’ve encountered them before. Why does Doppelmayr of France offer this wooden finished Uni-GS? Since when, and is it common?

Nearly every Poma installation in France does the same thing. It must be a regulatory requirement

No… A quick scroll through RM will show that not all covers are this way… Must be French fashion then? Wood makes it seem… more expensive?

Really bummed about the Horstman T-Bar. I enjoyed how steep it was, definitely an adrenaline rush riding it up! Plus the glacier was a fun powder arena on the right day, and it made a great connection to 7th Heaven.

Hopefully they can figure out an adequate replacement sometime in the near future.
