Hi Peter! My daughter is intensely obsessesed with chair lifts. Wondering if you have any recommendations of online or book resources for her? Or any chance you know the head of Lift Ops at Bachlor?
Hi Mike- longtime lift mechanic here. At the risk of stepping on Peter’s toes, there aren’t many books or online resources specifically related to chairlifts. You’re on one of them right now. Another is skilifts.org; it hasn’t been updated in a few years but there’s a fair amount of information there as well as an active discussion forum where she can ask questions and such. If you read French or have a translation programme, there’s remontees-mecaniques.net. What sort of information is she looking for?
Mike- what part of the country do you folks live in? If you are near any ski mountains, I am betting lift maintenance would love to provide a tour and answer questions.
What am I looking at in that Killington image?
