Yup. The Eyak single chair lift was originally installed on Bald Mountain Sun Valley in 1939. The old Christmas lift maybe? It was erected at Eyak in 1974.
Is it possible to suggest places that are missing? There’s a few in Fairbanks, AK, and there’s one missing in Anchorage (Hillberg in JBER). Planning on heading to Hillberg to teach my friend, I don’t know how you get pictures for the posts
Areas are typically added as he visits them. Pretty much every picture on the site is taken by Peter. So until he visits a place, you probably won’t see it. You can message him and see if you could take the pics for him but not sure if he does that. That being said if you have info that he is missing on a particular lift, let him know and he will most likely update it if that lift is in the database.
Does anyone know what happened to Manitoba Mountain? It was supposed to be a mountain with 3 surface tows serving beginners and intermediates and it was supposed to have one of the smallest infrastructure ratios of any ski area. Here are some proposal maps.
Is it just me, or does the old Independence Mine ski area look like a dream come true. Imagine small lift lines and a poma that tows you up to a wide open expanse that is consistently pitched with incredible scenery in the background. Must have been incredible on a pow day. Too bad it closed down or I would have loved to ski here.

Also, the Mt. Eyak ASAW single chair is super cool. If you ever make it up there again, you should be sure to visit Cordova and the single chair.

I believe Birch Hill has a chairlift (Fairbanks). 2 base areas, Iceman Falls and Dyea have ski areas, but unclear on the lifts or if public access.

There are a lot of resorts in NA, and it’s very expensive and time consuming to visit them all, especially in AK. It takes a while to visit them all.
