Something I’ve always wondered: Are the windows at the end of the Uni-GS terminals openable? They sure look like it.

The original Riblet double that this lift and Lakeview replaced had a midunload station where the Basin Express ends, followed immediately by a mid-load station.

I think that shack right above the Basin Express’s drive looks like it used to be one of the midstation operator shacks of the old Chair 1…

At the same time, though, Chair 1 traveled on a longer version of what is now Lakeview’s line, with Lakeview’s bottom drive being where the mid-load used to be.

Basin Express is actually located more or less where Chair 7 was previously located. Chair 7 provided access to the mountain without a hike up to the former Chair 1 from the lodge. It was removed in 1990 when the Great Escape Quad was installed.

I realized this a little too late. Basin is on the lift 7 line, and Lakeview is on 1’s line.

Anyone else think that pic 6 sort of looks like a game?

That or concept art – it looks artificial, although it probably isn’t.

This was the first brand new high speed I rode when it was new, it had a tumultuous first season but it’s been a very successful addition to Schweitzer & was a massive upgrade over the lower section of the Riblet double, doing away with the uphill hike to the old chair 1 is a nice touch as well.

Whatever happened to the UNI-GS terminal?
