Beginners – Blue Knob, PA

This lift has quite the history as well. It was once more than 5,600 feet long, starting at the tube park/village. The terrain has since been abandoned by lift service.

Lower part of the line.
New top terminal location.

Why did they even shorten the lift?

I vaguely remember this lift starting from the condos. This was probably back in the late 1980s when I was maybe 10. At that time, the beginner slope was where the current snow tube park is. I never saw this lift running back then. The trail underneath, aptly named “Condo Trail”, never had skiers (or snow) on it and seemed to go on forever. I’d love to see pictures of this lift from back then. Does anyone remember riding it or even seeing it operate?
