No way, this Lift is crucial for early season skiing because the snowmaking only goes up to the top of this Lift. It also runs during the spring too as well as closing day when they run an event when people ride up this lift and ski down all together as the last people down the hill. They also need it if the SLG goes down or wind holded.
If anyone is looking to ride Bell, it will be open for opening (this) weekend in addition to Nell. Two rarer credits if you are into that thing. Gondola and Ajax are also open. Nice to see another resort able to offer top to bottom on opening,
Bromley’s 1958 Riblet “Number One” had safety bars with footrests just like this. The Plaza lift, when it had center pole chairs, had a variant of this without any footrests

Why don’t they remove this lift, and Bell Mountain instead of Gents Ridge. From what I can tell this lift rarely operates?

They use this lift for early season operations when the summit terrain isn’t open yet (at least how they did it a few years back)
