The line runs parallel to the Silver Queen Gondola for its entire length, meaning Bell Mountain rarely operates.

Does anyone have any information as to why this lift was so heavily upgraded by POMA in the late 80s?

Need to have a good reliable back-up lift in case Silver Queen goes down?

Why don’t they remove this lift, and Bell Mountain instead of Gents Ridge. From what I can tell this lift rarely operates?

No way, this Lift is crucial for early season skiing because the snowmaking only goes up to the top of this Lift. It also runs during the spring too as well as closing day when they run an event when people ride up this lift and ski down all together as the last people down the hill. They also need it if the SLG goes down or wind holded.

I would love to see a detachable quad replace Bell Mountain and Little Nell running the length of both.

If anyone is looking to ride Bell, it will be open for opening (this) weekend in addition to Nell. Two rarer credits if you are into that thing. Gondola and Ajax are also open. Nice to see another resort able to offer top to bottom on opening,

When is Aspen going to replace this lift?
It seems to be very important to the quality of skiing.

Does Aspen ever run this along with Silver Queen on peak periods or is it only for backup and early/late season skiing?

Center pole Riblet chairs with safety bars, now that’s a rare sight!

Bromley’s 1958 Riblet “Number One” had safety bars with footrests just like this. The Plaza lift, when it had center pole chairs, had a variant of this without any footrests

Twilight at Purgatory has safety bars, but no footrests.
