Illuminator #2 – Mt. Spokane, WA

Another old Riblet with tapered towers.
This site used to be a mid-offload with the drive formerly in the base area.
Newer vault drive.
Chair 5 replaced the lower section.
Lift overview.
The old drive vault still stands.
Breakover towers.
Split towers before the unload.
Return-tension station up top.
Unload ramp.

In February I skied Mt Spokane for the first time, and this thing flies. A real catapult launch. Seemed like the fastest fixed grip chair I had ridden in a long time. I was at 49 Degrees and Red Mountain on the same trip and my impression held up.

Work sent me to Spokane for a week over a weekend, so I hit three new ski areas for me. Night skied Mt. Spokane, and drove up to the other two on the weekend. Alaska Airlines and Red had a free ticket deal this season, if you showed your boarding pass to Spokane.

I noticed the same thing when I went here last year. I don’t remember it stopping a particularly high amount, but i’m sure it happens a lot. Wonder how the new skytrac drive will change that.

Bottom Terminal is now a skytrac Monarch as of this season.
