As I’ve been perusing remontees-mecaniques.net, I’ve noticed that many older Leitner double chairlifts built in Europe use, what appears to me, very similar Borvig designs as this Borvig in North America uses. I know Leitner and Borvig had certain partnerships through the years, but it’s interesting for me to see Borvig make its influence in Italy as well as North America.

Leitner supplied the equipment TO Borvig, not the other way around. The design was created in Italy and exported to the U.S.

Didn’t know that, thanks for the info. Did Borvig start operations with Leitner designs? If so, when did they start designing their own product? (even though many later model Borvig triple chairs used Leitner carriers).

Leitner provided Borvig with various parts- Sheaves, Assemblies, Grips, Chairs, a few gearboxes. Borvig did their own Engineering, Terminals, Towers, Foundations and Installations. Somewhere in the mid 80’s they started producing their own ‘versions’ of the Leitner equipment.
