Description:

The ideal candidate will possess a fundamental knowledge of industrial electrical control systems and will have experience in reading, and editing electrical schematics. The initial task will be for the candidate to become proficient with Doppelmayr’s low voltage control systems, AC and DC motor controllers, and software in order to support our clients during troubleshooting and our team during installation, service, upgrades and maintenance. Once up to speed, the candidate will be assigned tasks with increasing levels of complexity. Position would likely start in April following the 2020/21 ski season.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with on- and offsite service, troubleshooting, installation, and product upgrades
  • Assist with onsite startup and commissioning activities for project managers
  • Support the emergency call program (rotating 24hrs on-call support)
  • Document service work and records
  • Sale and promotion of different programs and customer services
  • Support training activities (seminars)
  • Support the customer during new project handover

 

Required Skills:

  • Good understanding of PLC functionality and HMI integration
  • Good understanding of relay logic control system design principles and practices
  • Good understanding of AC and DC power and control circuitry
  • Experience wiring, pulling and installing electrical equipment
  • Good experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical circuits, drives, software, and equipment
  • Available for frequent and emergency travel
  • Ability to work productively at heights and in mountainous environments during any season/weather conditions
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude when communicating with customers and colleagues
  • Proactive, self-sufficient, well organized, team player, valid drivers license and passport

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity ski lifts or elevators at the electro-mechanical level
  • Familiarity with hydraulic system drawings and controls
  • Familiarity with industry codes and regulations such as CSA Z98, CEC, NEC, ANSI B77
  • Familiarity with MRP systems
  • Written and verbal proficiency in French and/or German language(s)

 
Education:

Diploma or trade certificate in related field or equivalent credentials/experience

 
Experience:

3 years of previous experience required, preferably in ski area electrical dept., industrial electrical and/or low voltage control systems
