It hasn’t been on the snow report for years as it was rarely if ever open to the public. All racing used to take place on the Highlands trail and they needed the extra vertical this lift served to homologate the trail for certain events. In recent years, race training and certain races take place on Lower Broadway, and events too big for it are done on Gun Hill Road or Eisenhower Drive.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see this lift removed and the terrain “given back” to make it easier to permit a future project.
I might go to Hunter this weekend. I am wondering what the odds will be that H, E, and Highlands will all run? I think H and Highlands are both very cool lifts that are a dying breed.
I’ve seen it run about 5 or so years ago, but not since. There was an error when this area was built and it accidentally crosses onto state land, and there has been some legal issues. I don’t think they’re allowed to make snow on that part.
I asked about this lift when I met with the lift maintenance director at Hunter Mountain a few months ago. This lift still passes inspection every year, but they don’t make snow on it anymore. Because of lack of natural snow, it hasn’t opened in a few years.
Does anybody know if this still runs? Hunter doesn’t list it on their website.

It is still on the 2018-19 trail map.

I doesn’t show up on Hunter’s lift status page, plus I don’t think a mountain as big as Hunter would let a lift run in this condition.

They will probably run H and E. Highlands they haven’t even made snow on.
