I’m not sure what I’m looking at in this picture, perhaps remains of one of the weasel chair’s midstations? Regardless, it is long gone now and explains the newer dopp tower head which was on tower 8.
When I rode that lift when I skied here, the chair sometimes bounced off the line from towers 9 and 10 and the lift usually was down once or twice a month due to this issue. They then pulled them out to stop this from happening.
Former Hot Wheels mid station that was removed. If I remember correctly, the lift was configured as shown with the mid station closed for a few years before the mid station towers were removed/replaced with a new tower head on Tower 8 as shown in the other pictures. It looks like this lift ended up on the White Wolf property if and when Troy Caldwell can finish building his lift up the backside of KT.

No, Gemini was a later model drive/tension station. This might have been the original Northstar.

Not yet. Probably to another alterra resort (would make a lot of sense at June mtn).

Those midstation towers lasted until around 2011 or 2012.

Does anyone know why this was a top drive compared to everything else being a bottom drive? Even the new treeline cirque is bottom drive

Typically the availability of AC Power. Top Drive’s are more efficient, require less tensioning force and usually require use a smaller haulrope.
