Correct. Side note, we will be taking them off later this year and putting them in the ground. The grey water line is no longer in use as well.

And now I can officially announce why we are doing that. (It finally became public knowledge today.) We will be converting Iron Mountain Tramway into a full fledged detachable lift. I’m happy to share what details I can if you would like, just let me know what info you need. :)

For the right price. ;) Kidding aside, right now the future of the current terminals, haul rope, and cabins is under wraps at this time. I’ll give you more details when I can.

Most of the lift is now the Grafton SkyTour in Grafton, IL.

Very little of it actually, just the terminals and the cabins with the grips/hangers. I believe they ended up getting a new haul rope. The original was starting to get old it was needing replacement soon.

The new lift uses almost all the same towers and heads. The heads and sheave assemblies were refurbished by Poma and put back on. You can clearly see in photos the older lifting points and Poma passes which I don’t thinking any newer gondola installation has. (Catwalks are the default appears.)

It had 18 towers just like the new one. You just don’t see tower 18 labeled as 18 on the new one since there is 1 and 1A at the bottom. (Avoided relabeling the whole line this way.) The new 17 is slightly uphill of the old 17 and 18 wasn’t needed for the new terminals.
