Campgaw is primarily used by beginners and first-time skiers. This chairlift is often people’s first-ever lift because of the mid-station. Due to this, I have seen more people fall off this chair due during the first ~10 feet of liftline due to improper loading than every other lift combined. There is also a bar attached to the top terminal at foot level to prevent skiers/riders from staying on the chair and going back down, and I have seen this hit numerous times as well.
The mid-unload ramp in supposedly for beginners but it is very steep and thin, so people fall every couple of chairs. In the pictures it looks pretty easy to get off on, and it is, but imagine you are a beginner. Once me and my friend watched in horror (and amusement) as like 4 beginners fell in a row. Later that day, he fell on the ramp and broke his wrist.
