I think this lift originally had Borvig pentagon style chairs. The safety bars are definitely from the original chairs. Compare them to this lift at Great Gorge (now Mountain Creek)
This has got to be one of Borvig’s earliest chairlifts. Were the pentagon style chairs Borvig’s original design? Also, was the current design ever used widespread or just a rare alternative?
This lift was relocated in 1995 from our boneyard. It was in the current triple lift location that was upgraded in 1985. It did have Pentagon style chairs, we retained the old safety bars with the current lift. I have a pic from it’s original location with the original chairs, but I’m unable to upload.

I thought a lot of Borvig parts, including their most common double chair design, were originally licensed from Leitner as evidenced by this similar-looking old lift in Italy: https://image.shutterstock.com/image-photo/very-old-chairlift-passo-giau-600w-13497961.jpg. Were the pentagon chairs an original design of Borvig?

Yeah, I was going to comment on the oddly shaped safety bars, I thought they were some old style borvig as well.
