    That’s a beautiful lift.

I understand why they didn’t get a high speed lift over here. It would be too expensive and it would ruin some of the fresh powder that the lift services

They intentionally built that lift as a double to protract the area being served from being skied out early in the day.

“Ms. Le Blanc and others also appreciated that the resort hadn’t turned the trail map into a treasure map that revealed all the choicest ski lines in the North Country, or installed a high-speed lift. (Mr. Kircher said his company purposefully installed a slower, $3 million double chair instead of a high-speed quad to limit the number of people who skied the area each hour.)”

I grew up skiing Crystal and hiked out to the North Back many times. I moved away long before the lift was built, and I’m curious to see how it skis now and if a low-capacity double keeps the crowds down.

Where is the operator shack at the top?

Behind the photographer’s point of view, next to the rock wall.

The “# of public riders today” on the board in this picture suggests that they succeeded in keeping the area from being too busy in the mornings.

Funny that the workbook entry shows the Michigan crystal mountian logo.
