Why were chairs on this lift (and sunset) replaced with partek chairs instead of the normal ctec bail chairs?

I heard from a friend whose cousin’s girlfriend knows a guy who has an inside source that mine fumes got to the chairs. Supposedly some riders experienced visions during rides. Not every ride, and not every rider, so it took a while to pin down what was going on. Turns out the paint they had used one summer on the old CTEC chairs absorbed a specific chemical out of the latent fumes that was a mild hallucinogen. The Partek galvy chairs don’t draw out the psychotropics from the air, and as a bonus they are from certain perspectives æsthetically reminiscent of early 80s Doppelmayr triple carriers.
