This lift replaced a 1968 Hall double and they were likely planning on putting a detachable here anyways They probably decided that the additional cost of the relocation was worth having the new detachable as the main lift on the mountain rather than just installing a brand new lift in this location.

I’ve always loved the sound of the drive motors on these first-gen UNIs.

Looks like a fairly normal bottom terminal to me- what’s hideous about it?

Yeah, this was a pretty common design for Doppelmayr detachables built between 1989 and 1994. This is the exact same UNI terminal design that Keystone has on the Outback Express and had on the original Peru Express and Montezuma Express.

And this terminal design was also on Ramcharger 4 before it was relocated to replace Shedhorn and got UNI-G skins, the former Crest 4, plus Jersey Cream and Glacier Express up at WB, among others.

Honestly, I kinda wish this design had been offered for a longer period of time, ’cause it’s visually appealing, and the return station design is pretty minimalist.

I couldn’t agree more, I always thought these terminals were really sleek and modern-looking, especially the returns. 1989 was a good year for detachable lift terminal design with Poma’s Competition terminals, Yan’s pancake terminals, and Doppelmayrs Uni terminals.

These terminals were also built in France until 2000. For whatever reason France skipped the spacejet terminals and went straight from Uni terminals to the Uni-G
