Couldnt agree more. The only other non 2S gondola with these cabins ive come across is one of the monocable gondolas at Kitzsteinhorn in the Alps, where wind is far less of a factor in operations. Im sure the spherical nature of these cabins is pretty efficient with redirecting winds. I love bi capable gondolas and wish we had more of them in North America, but with Jay Peak recently getting new owners, id say replacing the tram or the Flyer express (move the flyer to Bonaventure) with a modern Leitner or Dopp 2S system, would make a ton of sense for a resort that is constantly tarnished by wind holds that have really hampered 2 out of the 3 times ive skied there, with both the Tram and Flyer being on wind holds constantly.

Stowe and Stratton also have the same grip. Im sure theres many more out there. A Poma specialty, called a TB-50. Essentially its two TB-41s side by side in a monster of a grip body. Its a bear of a grip to rebuild. I believe this DT-215 is two DT-108s also in a large body.
There is NO WAY that those cabins hold 15 people. Maybe some people stand? And also, they never fill them with 15 people. That is as much as the Lone Peak Tram at big sky, but this looks way smaller if you compare the cabins in size

Weren’t Stratton’s and Whistler’s old gondola cabins able to hold 15 people? If you consider low capacity trams to be “15 person gondolas” then you can add Big Sky and Snowbasin to the list.
Stratton’s old gondolas were rated to hold 12 adults but the most adults ever loaded into them was 9 or 10, which would usually force a person or two to stand.
With that said, I’ve heard some interesting stories over the years of a lot more than 10 kids (often in ski school) being loaded into those old cabins. So at some point or another, the Stratton cabins have probably held 15..
The new cabins are usually filled with 7-8 on peak days, with a rare 9th person standing. While capacity is around 3/4 of what it used to be, it’s probably for the better that we leave behind the era of cramming 15 ski school kids into a gondola cabin that has no real seats.
What other lifts have CWA Conus cabins? I vaguely remember seeing an artists’ representation of Vail’s Eagle Bahn gondola when it was being planned with CWA Conus cabins, but they got changed to X-model cabins. Are there any other gondolas other than this one with Conus cabins?
They’re called CWA Conus cabins, I don’t think there’s any others in North America but there’s a bunch of them in Europe! I don’t think they’re produced anymore its gotten usurped by 10-seater gondolas and bigger 3S systems.

Surprised this lift isn’t a Bicable. 15 passenger gondolas I’ve seen have a second track rope on it. That is one big grip for one big lift!

Every time I go it seems like it is always running at its design speed which is 1200 fpm.

They do run this fast which is good. Most resorts slow down their detachables, which is pretty much pointless, unless it is a beginner lift
