Snow’s Mountain is older as a ski area. It was established in 1941 with a rope tow, while Waterville Valley was not established until 1966. After Waterville Valley opened, it was transitioned to become a reliever lift/mountain and offer night skiing for people staying in the valley, although it has since stopped being used as a ski mountain. The current chair was built to replace two T-Bars.
The “Valley Run II” lift was actually named Village, and was removed in 1997 along with the Valley Run Double. It was built by Borvig and some parts were used to build Turbulence at Pat’s Peak, NH
hey, I have a question: sometimes I see White Peaks as having 2800 PPH capacity, sometimes 3000, and the new 6 pack coming in is listed as either having 3000 or 3200 capacity? do any of you know which ones are correct?
I believe this difference in stats for the original WP was the fact that it was originally installed to go to the top of the mountain (3000pph) and then shortened which reduced it to 2800. The stats for the lift on this page are the original installation, not the shortened one. The new lift will be 3200pph according to Waterville: https://www.waterville.com/new-lift-updates

Shortening the lift wouldn’t reduce capacity as it doesn’t lengthen the chair spacing.
