I grew up skiing at Bryce Resort, an excellent family resort with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a top notch ski racing program. As a junior racer, I skied many resorts from North Carolina all the way up to Maine. One thing I appreciated about the chairs at Bryce was the curvature by one’s knees. The slats have a nice curve to them at the lower lip, and so they did not dig into your legs behind the knees and cut off circulation like many chairs. On the downside the slats were a bit cold, but in the late 80’s or maybe early 90’s they placed cushions over the slats which increased comfort and made them much warmer. Also, it seemed to me that at full speed the chairs at Bryce moved at a pretty good clip.

The Catamount Double at Catamount NY/MA also has centerpole chairs.

I painted every one of those chairs several years ago before the start of a season.

with this lift gone does that mean there are no more center pole SLI chairs left?

This might be one of the only SLI lifts with a station building, and this lift has no lead-in sheaves on the lower terminal
