When you’re in Ohio, don’t forget Clearfork ski hill. It’s currently abandoned, but I think it’s lifts are still standing. It is near Mansfield, Ohio and close to Snow Trails
Add Alpine Valley. I like that the ski areas in Ohio try to make their names sound like more well known areas in Vermont, like Mad River “Mountain” and Mt. Mansfield at Snow Trails. It’s also saying something that Ohio’s highest point has hill in the name.
My dad said the ski hill he used to go to in Ohio was called sugarloaf or Sugarmill or something like that, and it was built on an old garbage pile. Apparently, they had two Borvig center pole quads.
It’s not uncommon for Ohio to have their hills near garbage dumps. It always helps if the ski area needs to increase their vertical drop. I’m pretty sure Snow Trails did the same to their Mt. Mansfield.

I will work on getting the rest of the Ohio resorts this winter. Almost all the mountains I have left are in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic.

Ha! I was a ski instructor at Alpine Valley in the 80’s. There’s also Cleveland Ski Club which owns and operates a private a ski area with two lifts.
