The chairs on this lift came from Windham’s old F-Lift. Originally, it did not have foot rests. Note that there are some VonRoll style chairs with the 3 slat plastic backs mixed in with the regular Hall chairs. The lift had both styles when it was at Windham.

For a long time GP got away with running this lift with only one bottom attendant in the shack and no bumper. That’s the origin of the go on green light sign. There was (is still?) a sign at the bottom instructing you to bump the chair with your hand behind your knee. With new ownership they eventually added a liftie to bump chairs.

Something else I noticed, since the first few times I rode here as a little kid, there was no lift attendant to dampen the chair for my loading and it was difficult for 8 year old me to do it. I even have a video from back then of me loading it without an attendant

When I took these pictures there were two lifties but they specifically warned me they do not bump the chairs. They were impressed with my self-bump.

Is there specific reasoning for this? I’ve bumped many a chair and I can’t see a reason not to.

I think a combo of the wider triple chairs and bullwheel loading (both unique among Greek Peak lifts for a loooooooong time) plus the often-shorter season on the east half of hill meant that they just didn’t want to spend the timing training lifties to bump these chairs. They still don’t bump on the quad, although that has a loading carpet and doesn’t need it.
