This lift was cobbled together with components from multiple old Riblets.The chairs probably came from an East Coast mountain given the safety bars.Unloading area.Classic lattice-style bottom tension station.Loading is well above the bottom bullwheel.Tension carriage.There are at least three different tower styles used on this lift.View down the line.Upper lift line with a variety of towers.Lower lift line with the replacement lift next door.Angled, conical tower.
Is it possible that the chairs and perhaps some other parts of this lift came from the old Carinthia Double at Mount Snow, VT? It was a 1983 Riblet that was removed in 1997 and it had the same model of chairs as this lift.
From what I’d guess where al these parts came from
Top terminal/chairs Carthina double mt snow
Bottom terminal/towers maybe stevens pass(Barrier or Bluejay)
Those were removed around the same timeline as Carthina double was removed
It’s very well possible to also to add to that Brighton removed majestic double in 2004 had the same drive and also had the fair mix of towers including steel lattice towers (they were also at the top)
That terminal was fun (imagine sarcasm dripping from the comment) to inspect; plus accessing the bullwheel to grease the bearing was a slow knee-bashing crawl across 1/4″ angle iron. That said, I miss it.
I would guess that this lift is actually the old 1957 Riblet chair 1, just shortened. Comparing trail maps from 1989 and 1997, the existing chair 1 starts where Chair 3 used to start and the “proposed chair 6” alignment is on a similar alignment to the original chair 1. Looking at Google Earth, it is quite clear that Chair 6 used to extend to the summit of where Chair 1 currently ends. It wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense for an area to buy a used 1950s Riblet, especially after relocating a 1980s CTEC. As far as the terminal and tower design, the lattice terminal has shown up on other 1957 Riblets including the old Ridge lift at Sun Valley and the old Chair 2 from Mammoth. Not sure where the retrofit parts came from, most likely a relocation from elsewhere.
that is the case, if you look back in google earth to 1993 you can see the old unloading ramp at the summit of where the current chair 1 starts. but by 1998 the new chair 1 was installed by then and the unloading ramp was gone by that point. another thing that is interesting is the fact at the top the current building up there is the old drive terminal structure.

Interesting. This lift has both a tapered tower and a lattice tower. As far as I’m aware, Riblet discontinued those after 1956.
I wonder what lift they came from?

I’m kind of wondering if it wasn’t Pigtail I from White Pass. It had one of these lattice towers at the top of Execution and was removed in 1994.

It’s being replaced with a DPM fixed Quad in 2023.
