DSR is run on what appears to be a shoestring budget. That’s not a dig; I love DSR for what it is – old and cheap and funky. But Chair 5 doesn’t serve much terrain and the mountain is very rarely super crowded. If they’re going to pick a couple of lifts not to run, Chair 5 and Chair 1 are the right ones.
Could be Sherwood, alpine bowl or Kt-22 as they were removed about the same time this lift was installed. It also depends on the rotation of the lift and the terminals and chairs. But to rule out KT-22 it went up on the right side where this goes up on the left side.

I’m guessing its not not the old Siberia, while it had bail chairs, it was built in 1960 with an older tower design than this one. Out of all of Squaw Valley, it was most likely KT-22 because Riviera was retrofitted by Yan and Exhibition contained mostly SLI parts.
The skranch’s facebook talks a little about chair 5’s history: “Chair #5 is a Mutt. Parts from Alpine Meadows and Boreal Ridge”. Guessing from guesswork above sherwood parts were used.
Looks like someone skiing off that chair could easily cut over to boreal lol. When the chair runs they Likley put up fencing or signs or something.

i’ve done that once just get a pass to both resorts, and across the street sugar bowl, and you have a pretty big resort

Chair 3 at DSR also starts near Boreal’s Quicksilver lift so if all the lifts ran at both resorts they would be nearly connected in two places.

Why does this lift rarely operate though?
It seems fine to me.

I think its the old siberia double but I could be wrong

It wouldn’t be Siberia double as the original drive terminal was replaced with a YAN terminal. Plus the towers were pre 1965
