Also, the sky chair was relocated from Apex Mountain, BC. The midway chair was installed in 1990.

They should replace sky chair with a quad and move the alignment to the south face of the mountain, opening up new high elevation terrain there.

The Sky Chair is a Vancouver icon and will never be replaced. You may think its ancient, however its in good shape. Its also not that busy on most days. However replacing midway would be nice. The chair bars on midway hurt, so most people dont put the bar down. Its also a beginner lift with a center pole, so people bang their hands on it, not knowing its there. Even replacing Lions with a six pack and replacing the 10 min long raven chair with the existing detachable.
The south side of cypress is known as avalanche country to north shore rescue. I would like to see more being done of the west side of Black mountain. There was a plan back when the BC government owned the resort to put a chairlift there, opening a giant amount of terrain.

Midway isn’t really a beginner chair. It is more of a chair for the park in my opinion

I understand the sky chair move but raven ridge serves low elevation advanced terrain with no snowmaking so its only open 2-3 months a year, a detach would require a major snowmaking investment that isn’t worth it for the amount of skiers it gets. The ride is a bit slow but its never busy. Lions would be great for a six pack, maybe Boyne will change its mind about the stupid Kanc 8 and build a 6 pack here and at loon for the same price.

There are no crowds because it’s such a pain to ride. If it was serviced by a detach quad and some snowmaking, it would be super busy.

Midway is a relocation from whistler, where it was one of the two green chairs… not sure which. Drive equipment is suitably ancient.

When was the sky chair installed in Apex mountain resort? I know it was relocated in 1987 to Cypress, but I am wondering when it was originally built.
