This lift is very exposed to the winds. They shouldn’t have cut trails so wide, and preferably should have kept the lift a bit lower. I think in their original plans it was supposed to be HSQ, but opted for the cheaper solution of moving a seldom used lift.
It would have made so much sense for them to simply move Valley Run over to this alignment. A detachable lift would be more important here anyway if the master plan is realized because it will access South Green Peak and the town gondola.
I see no lies. Maybe the play here is to move the Green Peak Triple over to the new base area to serve as the lift that runs up to the lower half of the Green Peak pod, near where Bourbon Street meets Governor’s run. The Chondola will be the main event from that base area, so my guess is that a FGT would be perfectly fine as a lift that will be more about transferring between pods than it will be for lapping.

Back when first announced. It was supposed to be a HSQ – from 2013: https://whitebookski.com/2013/11/25/waterville-valley-nh-gets-green-light-for-green-peak-expansion/
