Sometimes I wonder if it’d be practical to split the lift in two, with a Heather Canyon egress lift ending at the base of Shooting Star, and another lift running from the bottom of Shooting Star up to the top of Hood River Express.

I think that would be pretty pointless. i think it would be very practical if they had a midstation at the Shooting Star and then extended the lift to a point where you can reach Cascade express from the top of the lift

They totally need a mid station at star (maybe even in the flat section just above it). As far as Cascade being reachable goes, though, they would probably just want to make Star’s current top station a mid station and add a new section beyond that. It would make lapping upper heather so much easier, although I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t want to to limit how many people are going into Heather.

I think it’s definitely easier to regulate the flow of people into Heather Canyon if you make these people have to take a longer route via the Heather Canyon lift, Shooting Star, and Cascade to do laps.

i believe this lift broke recently, because i was skiing and heather was open but the heather chair was not.

When this lift was Hood River Meadows, it was 5,940 feet long. As Heather, it is 3,037 feet long. I’m guessing that Doppelmayr handled the reinstallation in this alignment.

It was probably Poma because that was at the time that they were building other lifts at Meadows.

It was Doppelmayr, this lift has Doppelmayr sheaves and possibly some other components. It also has a different style of lifting frame on the combination assemblies.
