Am I going crazy, or did they change the alignment of this lift? I was always under the impression that this lift would end at the top of Edelweiss for some reason.
I don’t believe so. Internationale starts as a double black and then turns into a single black once you’re out under the cliffs. This alignment avoids that double black first section while also depositing riders closer to the back bowls
If I can get the time I want to get up there and ski this. Joe’s and my pa cut the original runs here but you always had to get there from chair 2, which made this area a tough ski. Being able to lap it probably changes how the mountain goes now.
It’s finally time to say this because this name has gotten so popular and that’s made me so happy, because I was the one who got the idea to restore the name. I’m not kidding, on January 31st, 2024, I sent an email to the Summit at Snoqualmie with a bunch of changes, but most of it was rejected, so I replied to the message for them to rename the new lift and trail back to Internationale, but they didn’t respond. This was the email:
Oh yeah. And one more thing. It’ll be great if you rename the International trails and the International lift back to “Internationale.” At the very least rename Upper International to Internationale.
Plus, if possible, please bring night-skiing back to East. It used to be open till 2 AM.
Unfortunately, night skiing is still not back at East but at least they took my suggestion.

Absolutely beautiful lift, and great photos Peter. This is so much cooler to me than any Big Sky D-Line or Vail Resorts 6-pack.

What is the catwalk above the top bull wheel for?

Maintenance access. They even provided a couple of pick points to suspend the bullwheel. Love it.
