Lift 7 – Taos, NM

Stadeli built seven lifts at Taos, more than at any other American ski resort. This was the last one built and the only triple chair.

I assume the Lift 7 replacement will finish at a similar spot to the existing lift? What I would like is for the new Lift 7 to start lower down.

It may be ideal to have a realignment starting near the Kachina Base area where the top of the Gondola. People could take the gondola and then have Lift 4 and Lift 7 to choose from.

This would ease skier flow and make it very easy to get to the new restaurant that will go in and not be reachable by skiing down from the top of Lift 4.

I see they are selling all 121 Stadeli grips with delivery after the season, is this lift getting replaced or just getting new chairs and grips?

It’s getting replaced. It’s going to be a Leitner-Poma chairlift, that’s all I know. Don’t know if 7A is getting replaced too, and they are going to put this new lift in a new alignment, but we’ll have to wait and see.

It would be nice if the replacement went all the way to the top of 7A and was detach.
