It should be noted that the 3 detachables most definitely do not operate at 1000 feet per minute, but rather around 600-700. Seriously limits the number of runs you can take in a day.
They’ve raised the speeds over the past season, they were running about 800fpm in 18-19 compared to 700fpm in 17-18. MC attracts a very high number of beginners, so the lifts are run slower to reduce the number of misloads.
All 3 detachables were running ridiculously slow last night. South was the fastest at only 715 fpm. Cab and Bear under 700. When I first started skiing there in 2013, Cab and South often ran over 900 fpm.

Vernon Valley bought Great Gorge in 1971 and merged the two trail networks under the new creative resort name Vernon Valley Great Gorge. Intrawest renamed the resort Mountain Creek in 1998 in its first year of ownership when they lived every lift designer’s dream by completely gutting 11 of the 13 existing lifts and installing 5 new, modern lifts as upgraded replacements.
I did not really realize this until now but this is the ski area that owned the infamous Action Park. You know the waterpark where everything was unsafe.

Can anyone tell me if there were really 16 Borvig doubles installed at Vernon Valley and Great Gorge? I can only find 14 doubles ever on trail maps.

I remember riding my first double-double there in the 90s; maybe they had two and that’s why it looks like 14?

If I recall correctly, the only double-double VV/GG ever had was the White lift, however only the looker’s left side was constructed.
