Borvig chairs with safety bars that do not have footrests are a rare breed. The only two others I can think of off the top of my head right now, are Hurricane, and 3 at swain. Top drive Borvigs are also a rare breed, which seems to be the preference here at Sundown. Most Borvigs were budget installations, so the mountains probably opted to save money by not running electricity to the top. All pre 1972 Borvigs had separate drive and tension no matter what… bull wheel loading and unloading Borvigs began in 1973 and more than 4 sheave compression assemblies in 1974!
