This quirky lift passes over a condo development and roadway on its way up Eagle Mountain.Non-skiable lower part of the lift line.Side view of the bottom terminal and tower 1.This is the return station.Lift line seen from the base.Loading area and lift line.View leaving the bottom terminal.Riding over the main access road.Tower 5.T6.Nearing the summit. The drive station.90 degree unloading.View from the summit.Middle section of the lift line.A six place chair with foot rests.Side view of the LPA terminal.Bottom station under the gondola.Top station with shack off the end.View up at tower 3.
Photo 15, looks like one of the chairs is missing a footrest bargrip, looks cursed considered that LPA chairs without footrests have the same style of grip
this is due to space issues at top of lift and limitations of placement of lift house
also ground elevation on this lift makes a straight unload too flat
So first they did Leitner-Poma for Caribou, then they chose Doppelmayr for the gondola, but then, Lutsen decided to switch back to Leitner-Poma for Raptor. I wonder why that is?
The Gondola was originally under contract with Leitner-Poma to follow the Installs of Dasher at Granite Peak and Caribou at Lutsen, The contract was terminated for the Gondola shorty before the project and it went to Doppelmayr. Not sure what happened. I was surprised last summer that Lutsen went back to LPA, and Snowriver which works much more closely with Granite Peak (3 Leitner -Poma installs) went Doppelmayr to start their replacements. Has to come down to price and availability.
It’s amazing to me how these resorts can spend millions on lifts only to put ugly fonts and logos on the terminals. RAPTORexpress … more like Kerning Catastrophe.

I’ve never seen a 90 degree unload. Are there many such lifts with this kind of unload?

Peruvian, Lower Beaver Creek Mountain Express, Imperial Express SuperChair, Thunder, Kaatskill Flyer, Swift Current 6.
Usually this sort of unload is seen when there’s spacing constraints up top.

Pricing I assume. Doppelmayr could probably build the gondola for cheaper, and Leitner-Poma could probably build Caribou and Raptor for cheaper.

This is now a straight unload (January 2025). The 90 degree unload was a little awkward when trying access the terrain to the North/skier’s right.
