I hope that Vail Resorts upgrades this lift to a HSS soon. It gets long lines, runs all season, and serves a key link between the Red Pine Lodge to the Canyons base. However, I still think that Sidewinder Express is more important to this area than a Saddleback replacement. If you really want to lap this lift without lines, the last 30 minutes of operation this lift is absolutely empty, making for some great afternoon mogul laps on Elk Ridge and Silver Horse, as well as some nice end of the day tree skiing.
I’d rather see them build a HSQ from mid mountain to the top of tombstone to help empty the area out before upgrading this. Is that what you meant by sidewinder express?
