Supreme – Alta, UT

In 2025 Leitner-Poma and Alta relocated the Supreme lift to follow a straight alignment rather than the previous bend path.
The bottom terminal sits in the same location as before but shifted angle slightly.
Both terminal foundations were able to be re-used.

How did they redo the towers? Left in place at the old foundation and helicoptered a few yards to the left each time, or did they have to take them all the way down to a staging area like a completely new lift?

Who would have paid for this? Alta, L-P, someone’s insurance company? What would this have cost compared to what they would have paid to build the original lift, or compared to a relocation to a different site?

I’d have to think they dug and poured the new footers, then when they were ready picked them off the old footers and placed them on the new. Less helo time that way. Of course, they typically build the towers in stages- tube, then crossarm, and finally assemblies- so they would probably have brought the upper parts to a staging area and moved only the towers directly. My guess only.
