Per Revelstoke’s announcement regarding the Cupcake lift, both Stoke and Ripper will be getting additional chairs for next season: https://revelstokemtn.com/cupcake
“In addition to a shiny new chair, we’re also investing in some upgrades to our existing lifts for the 2019.20 season. We will be adding more gondola cabins to the Revelation Gondola line and additional chairs to both the Stoke and the Ripper Chair. This increases in capacity of each lift gives us the ability to transport more skiers and riders per hour.”
Before the capacity upgrade, Stoke had 99 chairs. Now it has 141. The new chairs can be identified because they use the newer Leitner-Poma logo, not the gold swoosh.
I actually really like this terminal and chair design, a little more than the LPA. I do generally prefer Leitner-Poma over Doppelmayr, but I just don’t like the look of the UNI-GS, which was produced at the same time as these. The LPA in my opinion is still better than the UNI-G, because the UNI-G looks sort of cheap on the outside. With this model though, the chairs are way nicer than the LPA chairs, which look a little weird in my opinion. I think Leitner-Poma was way ahead of Doppelmayr 13 years ago, and they still are.
They are not! With Leitner Poma you can still see inside the terminals and the UNI-GS is my favorite type of modern detach besides the G-CTEC Stealth l
and ll.
