Well, the towers are brand new, so they couldn’t be laying around or hand-me-downs. I believe it has something to do with the materials used in the sheaves or something like that. I’m not completely sure.
I’ve only seen High Pines Glades (the trail under the lift) open once. Luckily, I got to do it when it was open, and I can say that it is very fun. There are some great cliffs and drops, and it’s decently long too. I highly recommend checking it out if it’s open. Unfortunately, it’s almost never open, so do it if it is.
Gore wouldn’t have done a Doppelmayr. The original plan was to build a loading conveyer, but it wasn’t built. Gore doesn’t have a single modern Doppelmayr lift as they rely on HTI for lift installations.

They definitely cheaped out on this lift. A Doppelmayr Alpenstar with a loading carpet running 2.5 m/s would have been perfect for this spot.
