The only true beginner chairlift at Stratton is called Villager.Loading area.Portal tower 1.View up the short line.Fixed top drive terminal.End of the top station. The top bullwheel is narrower than line gauge so there are vertical and horizontal sheaves on the last tower.View down the line.Upper section of the lift,
Narrower than line gauge? Interesting. The drive appears to be older than the rest of the lift. . .is it reused? From the lift spreadsheet it looks like they could have used the Heron drive from NA.
Believe it or not, this is the original drive for the lift. A few early poma lifts have narrower bullwheels. Look at the old snow bowl quad. It also has a narrower bullwheel.
That was a standard Poma design for quite a while. My tower 1 (L-lift at Copper) has the assemblies canted significantly to bring the rope in from line gauge (4 metres) to bullwheel gauge (3.25 metres).

I would assume so, they wouldn’t add in those awkward horizontal sheaves on any lift with a new drive.

What year was the Villager lift shortened? Previously the loading area was further down, closer to the condos.

I believe so. The lift currently begins on an artificial seeming hill. I think I remember that hill not existing and it ending a little lower before.
