Well I was wondering if you knew about this little gem in the falls area. They only cross the boarder but not allow people off because it is not a secure location and no officials to allow you to cross. I am sure when there is an emergency then all bets are off and will keep everyone secured until back on the other side of the boarder.
It is a fun adventure and one must enjoy while at the falls.
I hope you enjoyed a ride on the Maid of the Mist or the Canadian vers. Hornerblower (i think that’s its name). It is a must while around the WNY area to enjoy the falls.
Interestingly enough, both terminals are in Canada. The river takes a sudden, more than 90 degree turn, which is what causes the natural whirlpool. The US/Canada border is in the center of the river and follows the same 90 degree turn. The tram just barely clips the corner of the US border at about a 45 degree angle. Because of this the line is about 1/3 Canada, 1/3 USA, and then 1/3 back in Canada!
Super interesting. Wonder if any other ropeways out there cross an international border? In this case, twice!
