Had no idea Riblet made up-and-overs. Was this the only one?

According to Peter’s 2015 article on up-and-overs, there was a 1967 up-and-over Riblet at Vail (the predecessor lift 6)

Correct. Its replacement is an up-and-over-and-up-again, for what it’s worth. And to Riley’s original comment- while my only experience with up-and-over lifts has been with Murray-Lattas, that doesn’t mean that other manufacturers haven’t also done that engineering.

Being as this predates Dinosaur at Hyak by a year, and the Baker up-and-overs by two years, it looks like Riblet’s up and over here predated any manufactured by Murray-Latta, unless there is one I don’t know about. This might be the first up-and-over in the world?

So cool you were able to see my ski hills lifts! They are very cool, many resorts don’t have systems like this!

Heard they want to replace this soon and it would be two separate lifts. Guessing that means some type of realignment

I can’t believe they trust people to ski through the lift line where the chairs are at head height. Glad, but surprised.
