The lift was downgraded from a quad to a triple around 2013 when the other new lifts were installed. The carriers have a “wireframe” design above the top crossbar that looks like the quad carriers from Hall. I haven’t seen much of this design. Is this an original Hall carrier design, or is this a modification of some sort? Do any other triples have this carrier design? If they are original carriers, did they come from a removed lift?

Based on what I know, these chair frames are quad and standard for hall. The seat was modified like a few other hall quads because the chair width is narrower than most quads by a little, so maybe they are converted for not being as comfortable if it’s fully loaded.

I only know of 3 other Hall quads of this style (that look like triples): Buck Hill, MN, Whitecap, WI, and Paoli Peaks, IN. It looks like all of them were built in 1978. I have seen other hall quads that are wider and actually look like quads. I wonder why Hall chose this design in 1978.

This lift needs to be replaced. Every season, without a doubt, it breaks down at least 5 times for periods of 30 minutes to 2 hours. It’s been doing this for as long as I can remember, and even when my dad used to ski here, it broke down lots then. Replace it with a fast fixed grip of sorts, maybe another triple since not a lot of people go to this area.
