2027 already? Another D-Line 6-Pack for Yellowstone after the lodge replacement? Thanks for putting it up this early Peter!

Can’t believe we are already at 2027 new lifts!

Interested about the YC D-Line lift too. Also excited that the Eaglecrest gondola is FINALLY coming.

Eaglecrest is a big maybe. Not definite.

If they cannot complete it by summer 2027, if the deadline is in fact May 2028, they will be in trouble with financing.

Any Potential Candidates for Deer Valley’s continuation of Expanded Excellence after Hail Peak? Big Dutch, Crown Point Replacement, Hailstone, etc?

Big Dutch is infill terrain, the terrain looks awesome and absolutely merits repeat skiing, *but* its really not that far to simply ski to the bottom of the gondola again. Unless there are so many people lapping the lower gondola that its impacting it’s ability to get people out-of-base, I’d put this low priority.

Crown Point’s replacement only became a hot topic because of the Sultan bottleneck last year, by this winter (25-26) you’ll have infill lifts on Galena, plus the Gondola up-and-over to Park Peak, and Pioche Express (already built) gets you to Jordanelle. Unless Sultan continues to draw “transfer” crowds from the east village, I’d put this one on the back burner too.

I think Hailstone refers to the connector lift from Hail Peak Saddle (where the big snowmaking plant is) up towards Big Dutch, so you can get to the expanded terrain. If I’m a betting man that’ll probably get built alongside Hail Peak, otherwise Hail Peak out of the parking lot is a lift to nowhere.

I believe Hailstone is actually the lift to better lap Big Dutch. Most of the trails from Big Dutch end at Green Monster, so any lapping will require either a decent trek across the base area or a quick ride up Hoodoo to get across. From what I understand, the idea is to be a bit conservative and see how quickly skiers move over into this terrain and then install Hailstone when the volume warrants it.

The Hail Peak Saddle Lift is technically still a long-term option, but it will be possible to ski both to and from the base of Hail Peak from the gondola, so it will likely not be built.

You are correct as to why Crown Point’s replacement was a hot topic last year, but I actually suspect the lines at Sultan are going to remain a bit higher than they expect based on how I personally believe the initial skier flow will be, so I would not quite categorize this as a back burner replacement. I would say it is likely by 2030.

Overall, they really are taking a wait-and-see approach and opening terrain in stages such that they do not overbuild, but they do still have ambition long-term goals.

I think this is right, though my guess is that they are going to need to move on Hailstone pretty quickly. That pod feels sort of like the Silverlode equivalent for East Village – classic intermediate terrain, centrally located, north facing, ideal vertical for lapping – all the attributes you’d expect for a busy location on the hill. Wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up installing a 6-pack instead of just a quad at the end of the day.

I wonder if the Lake and Lodge HSQs from Yellowstone Club will get Boyne style refurbs and become some of the lifts needed for Moonlight West. LMLC is the developer behind both Yellowstone Club and Moonlight West so it might make sense for them to be putting new D-Line 6 packs in the YC so they can build out Moonlight West at least partially with refurbished bubble HSQs

Lake is pretty much a perfect length for the lift that runs from hole 9 on moonlight reserve to Horseshoe. Verticals about 300 feet off which isn’t too bad.

It sounds like Timberline’s gondola has a realistic possibility of being constructed in 2027? Although I suspect it may take 2 summers to complete, so 2028 for an opening.

Tremblant is also planning to replace the vehicles on their cabriolet lift. Trials on a new models imported from Europe will start summer 2026 and the full replacement should happen in 2027.

The new vehicles will reportedly be similar to those found at winter park.
