I believe this lift came from Sapphire Valley when it was replaced with a GaraventaCTEC/DoppelmayrCTEC Quad

I don’t think it was that one. The old SLI chair at Sapphire Valley had a weird SLI chair design that I’ve never seen before, and it’s not on this lift.

Is that an SLI in the brochure though? It looks like a Roebling to me.

According to newenglandskihistory.com, the lift was first installed at Mt. Humbard on Mackinac Island before it was relocated to Berkshire East and eventually Winterplace.

Thanks for posting, and I’ve been curious about the Mackinac Island ski hills for some time. The lift was removed shortly before I was born, and while I’ve stayed at the Stonecliffe Inn in the 1990s, I was unaware that the former ski hill was anything but a couple of rope tows. The photos of this lift in its original install show the operation was actually more exciting than that. Of course, there’s the question – why SLI?

Berkshire East has a history of installing used lifts. Fascinating to see this lift still in operation and in good shape in West Virginia.

I just skied here and they repainted the chairs and replaced the wood for the seats. It’s good to see they are taking good care of this cool little lift.
