Airtram – Hell’s Gate, BC

Habegger built four lifts in North America before merging with VonRoll. All were in British Columbia and two were aerial tramways like this one.
The top station is where guests park and houses the drive equipment.
25+1 passenger cabin.
Unfortunately when I visited, the tramway was undergoing unscheduled repairs.
The top terminal building.
The bottom terminal on the opposite side of the Fraser River.
The lower station building and associated shops/restaurants.
The short but steep lift line with no towers.
View up the lift centreline.
The top terminal and one of the two cabins.
Lift overview.
Another view of the tension terminal. Notice there is only one haul rope and one track rope on each side rather than two.

Allen Peak, Hells gate and Lone Peak are like the only 3 tramways without towers until 2017. Only 2 remain.
