A backpack full of beer and snacks are a must have for this slow lift. Aurora made me realize that resorts should have beer and waffle vending inside lift lines rather than maintenance heavy detachables that use more electricity and have shorter lifespans. With enough beer and snacks this is the best chair on the mountain. Sunday River tacitly encourages this by having the trash cans for your beer right there as you ski down the unload at all their lifts. Most mountains make you walk over to an inconveniently far away trash can and will say something if you drink visibly. Not in Maine though nobody cares. Pro tip: bring light beer, IPA’s are too heavy. Ask me how I know.
This lift appears to have had a rope evac today. Heard some rumors but nothing official yet…

The rumors are true, I saw the lift after the incident today and the cable was off the rollers at the loading station. https://www.sunjournal.com/2024/02/22/more-than-200-evacuated-from-ski-lift-at-sunday-river/

Is this lift likely to be fixed, or will Sunday River have to move its replacement up in their timeline?

One of the quieter lifts as well. Aceesses all kinds of trails. Looks very similar to the Bear Mountain Quad at Killington besides the tower heads.
