This lift was not the first built at Woods Valley but it is now the longest and most operated.
Riding up near the base.
The top terminal and operator house.
The last two towers.

The upper helf of the line is relatively flat which explains why the original T-Bar ended below here.

I skied here in 2020 for the first time in maybe 35 years. I am pretty sure the Big lift runs much faster than “back in the day.” In fact, the loading area used to be in the shed. You’d wait for a chair to round the bull wheel and pass by, then ski forward to load the next chair. Now you load on the uphill side of the shed. You just step into the loading zone, your chair comes flying around the bull wheel, and off you go!

Woods Valley seems to do a great job with snowmaking and grooming, and draws a healthy crowd (but lines don’t seem to get very long. )

Woods Valley has purchased Kennywood’s old CTEC Triple. I would imagine that it’s going to end up replacing this beauty.
