The Blazing Zephyr replaced a fixed-grip quad that was later relocated to become Chuter.
Tower tubes were re-used from the old CTEC lift to the new one.

      Look at the growth pattern of the tree to the left of the lift line. Might get a little “breezy” in that area!🤔

        Michael and Steepskier are both correct. This was the 2016-2017 ski season when the Peter took this picture and it was one of the highest snow years at Mt. Rose. Also, the winds get horrendous at the top, so a shorter tower is needed due to the zephyrs that blow down the mountain into the valley. Side note, the term zephyr is short for “Washoe zephyr,” a term coined by Mark Twain to describe the afternoon winds that blow from the Carson Range into Washoe Valley.

    I don’t know if it’s just me or not, but I don’t like the way that the stealth terminals and Garaventa CTEC chairs look.
