This lift replaced the Summit Triple on a new alignment up the Comet trail. I believe this was done to give it easier access to the Morningstar expansion that was built the next year. The Summit Triple was relocated to the looker’s right side of the Rocket trail to replace the North Double, a Carlevaro and Savio lift that was original to the mountain. Its twin, the South Double on the lookers left side of the Rocket trail, was replaced by the Summit Triple in 1984.
Good eye! Rode this lift yesterday, noticed that chair 17 didn’t have a footrest. Pretty sure (based on position of Chair 12 in the photo) it’s the same one.
I love this lift but I would love to see it replaced with a six-pack or an eight-pack in the future. This lift gets extremely packed on weekends and Holidays. The lines are ridiculous. It’s a total free-for-all and nobody is managing the lines. All of the chairs now have foot rests. I don’t know why some were off previous seasons?
They need to develop the north end of the mountain, add another green run, widen Upper Universe and Upper Northstar, add lights to Lower Universe, this will bring traffic to the Galaxy quad, then they can run that chair more regularly.

Cool to see you got out to my area! I’ve videoed all these lifts in the past years

Looks like there’s a chair in pic number 5 that has no footrests.
