I am not sure if this counts as a lift, but Cranmore had a skimobile to transport skiers up the mountain for around 30 years. It did utilize a cable, but it was under wooden tracks. The carriers were essentially one-person carts with a seat that rolled on the tracks, so skis off. It was not detachable and went pretty fast, plus it was loaded from the side, so attendants often had to help people step in with their skis. It was removed in 1990.
The two Skimobiles (Upper and Lower) were definitely lifts. There is footage of both when they were new in Sydney Shurcliff’s Ski America trilogy (Ski America First, Ski America Second, Ski America Third), which the New England Ski Museum has compiled into a DVD.
