Of the high speed quads, East River is the only one of the four which had the wood skin from start, as the TB-41 high speed quads had it added in 2004.
The first lift to run on this alignment was a Heron-Poma double chairlift, which ran until 1998. That year, the lift was upgraded to a triple by using the old Keystone triple, which had been displaced by the current Red Lady Express. That triple had a Delta motor room on an Alpha frame.
The towers also received new lifting frames during the relocation.
80% of all skiers how venture away from the beginner lifts at CB ride this lift at least once a day. And 60% of terrain off the north face tbar requires east river to get back to any other part of the mountain. There are days it can’t keep up.

Why in the world does this lift have 2400 pph capacity? I wouldn’t think that it gets enough traffic to justify that.
