Is it just me or does this lift run faster then Super Bee?

I believe they both go 1100 feet per minute. Excelerator has closer chair spacing so it may seem faster.

Actually, it seems faster because the design of the unload area means that Excelerator’s chairs basically fling you out of the chair. They haven’t even finished decelerating when you reach the ramp.

Same thing with mineral basin at snowbird. Its like unloading a fixed lift but a little slower.

it’s fun to be flung off of a detachable lift, I usually do it as much as possible, even if it means almost jumping forward off of the chair

5,36, and 37 at Vail fling you off like crazy too.

KT-22 ejects you quite noticeably up top.

Gold at Nakiska does the same, another Omega.

I highly doubt this lift was meant for 90 degrees loading. As soon as you are halfway on the thing, it starts swinging you around the terminal.

Yeah there isn’t really very much of a straight part on the turn around. I’m surprised it doesn’t stop more often.

It doesn’t have beginners on it, which is why it doesn’t really stop.

That section of Copper is beginners only. I mean, the feeder lift to it, American Eagle, is a no beginners lift.

Fours later but here we are. This was most definitely designed as a 90-degree loader. It’s been that way since the beginning.

Is this the first lift with the Omega terminals? Shooting Star Express at Mt. Hood Meadows is from the same year but features Challenger terminals.

B and E were the first as far as I know. The Challengers were phased out the next year.

This and the bee ended the TB-41 grip era.

Maybe, however, the Omega Grip is much easier for maintenance than the old TB’s.

Having worked on both, I’d say neither one was better. The Omega has fewer parts- 76 versus 119.

How do you compare them with the new LPA grip?

The LPAs are pretty straighforward. They’re the messiest grips I’ve ever torn down, though- 7 grease fittings and it gets everywhere.

With the new master plan, excelerator is changing to a 6 pack. With the amount of wind excelerator experiences, I would love to see the new lift with bubbles, although the high wind might also be a problem with them.
